Meet Our 2025 Honorees

We are thrilled to be recognizing two extraordinary leaders who exemplify service, impact, and commitment to the community:

Trailblazer Honoree: Simon Salas ’79, ’83L, ’83 SIPA

Simon Salas is a three time Columbia alumnus and the CEO of Good Samaritan Community Services, a powerful catalyst for change in South Texas that serves over 5,500 individuals and families across five cities. Beyond his executive leadership, Simon has dedicated decades of volunteer service to Columbia, chairing the local Alumni Representative Committee (ARC) and focusing his outreach on high school students in non-traditional areas, a true champion of equitable education access.

Emerging Trailblazer Honoree: Dr. Jonathan Jiménez, ‘15 MPH

Dr. Jiménez is the Founding Executive Director of NYC Care, the nation’s largest and most comprehensive initiative ensuring every New Yorker has access to healthcare regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. Housed within NYC Health + Hospitals, NYC Care has won national awards for improving health equity, demonstrating Dr. Jiménez’s profound commitment to public service and community well-being.
